March of the Penguins tells the story of the emperor penguins' remarkable winter journey across the ice deserts of Antarctica to their traditional breeding ground. Thousands of penguins abandon their ocean homes to make this journey to ensure the survival of their species. It is the first feature-length film to look at the extraordinary struggle and triumphs of the emperor penguin in its natural environment and was filmed over 13 months on location in the Antarctic.
