This interactive CD-ROM develops students' understanding of film language by exploring editing and building narrative through the creation of one scene. Working with a selection of rushes of a simple narrative shot in a number of different ways, students are tasked with cutting a sequence together which fulfills a certain brief- an actor receiving a phone call. Students are encouraged to explore not only the effects of the visual but also how sound and pacing can affect the message.
