Welcome to Film Education's muppetational interactive study activities. Here, children will develop:

  • An understanding of character development
  • A clearer picture of dramatic conventions and fiction genres
  • An appreciation of pitch and rhythm and
  • An affinity for puns and word play

 

Note: Although this film is rated U, please read the BBFC's notes before deciding whether is it suitable to screen to your class.

These materials allow pupils to learn about story and characterisation in an irresistibly fun way by immersing them in the world of the Muppets. The online resources can form a discrete interactive Literacy / ICT project over a 3–5 week block, or they can be used as stand alone lessons in Literacy, ICT or Music for pupils between the ages of 5 and 11.

The world’s biggest Muppet fan, Walter, discovers a wicked plan to destroy the Muppet Theatre. Underneath the Muppets’ old stomping ground is a recently discovered oil field. To save the theatre, they need to raise $10 million. Walter, along with Gary and Mary, help Kermit to reunite the Muppets who are scattered around the world. Miss Piggy is Plus-Size fashion editor for Vogue in Paris, Fozzie is in Reno with his tribute band “The Moopets”, Gonzo runs a plumbing empire and Animal is in therapy for anger management in a clinic in Santa Barbara. Together, the Muppets plan The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever.
