Thinking ENGLISH

About the resource

Thinking English is a downloadable teaching tool for use in English with learners aged 11-14.

The pack comprises relevant and engaging clips from feature films, offering carefully chosen stimulus material for the classroom, plus an accompanying download of curriculum-focused learning activities.

The resource is designed to help improve students’ engagement and attainment in reading and writing, with a focus on the moving image.

Thinking English enables students to develop skills in approaching, analysing and responding to film texts, extending their reading skills across text type and genre and developing descriptive, analytical and imaginative writing through a range of focused activities. Supporting materials on this site include a video introduction to the resource, as well as all the student activity sheets in both Word and PDF format, and full Teachers’ Notes.
