Thinking MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Thinking Modern Foreign Languages DVD

About the resource

Thinking modern foreign languages MFL teaching tool explores how using French film can offer imaginative access to a variety of authentic voices in ways that challenge learners to think about and investigate language. The film extracts help to widen their world-view and cultural understanding and encourages them to explore and become more confident speakers and listeners through engaging in real communication.

The widely trialled learning resources have been designed by schools within the LG&T and Rural Network programme to encourage learners to engage with challenging issues and contexts in ways that develop passion, commitment and enthusiasm for language learning. The materials consist of a selection of extracts from 11 iconic French films, notes for teachers and student activities in PDF and PowerPoint for use in lessons.

Supporting materials on this site include a video introduction to the resource, as well as film synopses of all the clips used.
