Film and Media Studies
The Film and Media Studies Toolkit aims to support
teachers and students in both analytical and practical
work. Ranging from analytical skills in “Film
language” to a study of British Film since the
1940’s (Britpix) to an in depth look at how the
film industry works, all resources are enhanced by Film
Educations unique links with the film industry – allowing
us to gain access to information and materials usually
unavailable to others.

English and Drama
The English and Drama Toolkit acknowledges the growing
importance of the study of film and the media within the
curriculum. The materials in the kit address in a new,
direct student centred approach topics which have traditionally
been studied (such as the “film of the book” and
Shakespeare adaptations) as well as new forward looking
material which takes English and ICCT into new realms – the
upcoming digital resources in the Poetry and Motion series
(available shortly).
The kit covers the main key stages, from introductory
material for year 7 through to Key Stage 4 – dealing
with literacy and its relationship to the moving image.

History
The History Department Toolkit has been developed to
allow students not only to study the ways in which historical
moments have been portrayed on the screen but also to
allow students an experience of creating their own historical
documentaries, thus enhancing and enlivening their study
of the use of sources, the creation of secondary sources
as well as ways in which propaganda is created.
