HOW TO ENTER
The Young Film Critic competition has four separate age categories, with corresponding categories in each group for those with a sensory impairment of some kind.
Entrants must carefully read the requirements of the relevant category. Further details on each are shown in the drop-down below:
AGE 4-7
Entrants in this category must be between the ages of 4 and 7 when they enter the competition. They should produce an A4 visual representation of a scene from a film seen at the cinema in the last year OR create a poster for a film seen at the cinema in the past year.
Entrants can use any materials to create the poster or scene, providing it can be sent in the post and fits onto an A4 sheet of paper. Some ideas are suggested in the Resources section.
AGE 4-7 SENSORY IMPAIRED
Entrants in this category must be between the ages of 4 and 7 when they enter the competition and have a sensory impairment of some kind. Sensory impairment includes those who are deaf or hard of hearing and/or blind or partially sighted. They should produce an A4 visual representation of a scene from a film seen at the cinema in the last year OR create a poster for a film seen at the cinema in the past year.

Age 7-11
Entrants in this category must be between the ages of 7 and 11 when they enter the competition. They should write a review of a film seen in the cinema in the past year. The review should be a maximum of 200 words in length. For guidance on how to write an engaging film review, go to the Resources section.
Age 7-11 Sensory Impaired
Entrants in this category must be between the ages of 7 and 11 when they enter the competition and have a sensory impairment of some kind. Sensory impairment includes those who are deaf or hard of hearing and/or blind or partially sighted. They should write a review of a film seen in the cinema in the past year. Age 11-14
Entrants in this category must be between the ages of 11 and 14 when they enter the competition. They should write a review of a film seen in the cinema in the past year. Entrants must present their response to a film they have seen at the cinema during the last year, either independently or at one of Film Education’s cinema events. All entries to the 2011 competition must be received by 16th December 2011. The nominees will be announced in early February and the ceremony will take place in March. Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions carefully before submitting entries.
