Otter fact file:

An angry-looking otter stands on a bale of hay. In its hands, it is clutching a mallet. Behind him is a stream in which logs are floating.

How it moves: otters can walk on land and can also swim very fast due to their streamlined bodies, powerful tails and webbed feet.

What it eats: otters mainly eat fish but will sometimes eat other small mammals, birds, amphibians or shellfish.

Where it lives: otters live in all continents of the world except for Antarctica and Australasia. Most otters live close to freshwater streams, rivers, lakes or coastal areas.

Avenging quality: all otters have a very good sense of hearing that is very important for sensing danger.

Fun fact: for many generations, fishermen in southern Bangladesh have used otters to chase fish into their nets.
