Film stills

In Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days, there is a strong focus on different types of relationships. As the main character, Greg has relationships with friends, girls, his parents and his brother. To complete this task, you ought to have some ideas of who some of the different characters are in the stories. If you’re not sure, you can check out the film’s official website as a reminder.

First, work with a partner to think of words and phrases to link to the image. If you have a print out of the image, you can stick it onto a large piece of paper and jot down your ideas around it.

Now, imagine you are one of the characters with Greg in one of these still images. Try to write (or role-play) what you think that character is thinking and saying. How do they feel about Greg? What is their relationship like? Is it changing? If so, how?

When you’ve completed your preparation, share your ideas with others in your class making clear which image you have based your response on.
