Voiceover

The voiceover is an instantly recognisable convention of a film trailer and has several functions. The chart below outlines a range of these functions in the left hand column. As you listen to the soundtrack of the following trailer, try to make notes in the right hand column on your copy of the downloadable chart to explain the information conveyed by the voiceover.

- She just couldn't get the breaks.

Look, I'm sorry, you're just not good enough. You can't cut it with the 718.

- What do you wanna do with your life?

Honey built this studio with her dance career.

We all can't be like your daughter, Mrs Daniels.

(Narrator) Now she's gotta take the first step... to get a second chance.
