Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3: Dog Days presents Greg and his friends in a number of new, hilarious adventures. Use these still images, which are taken from the some of the most exciting moments in the film, as a stimulus for your own writing.
- First, work with a partner to think of words and phrases to link to the image. If you have a print out of the image, you can stick it onto a large piece of paper and jot down your ideas around it.
- Now use the content of the image (and the words you’ve come up with) to write your own imaginary account of what is happening. You can change the names of the characters but keep the situations the same. Try to use a combination of descriptive language and dialogue to bring the image to life.
Once you’ve finished, make sure to share your writing with others in your class. How have different people interpreted the same image differently?
