Shattered Glass

[cert 12A, 95 mins]

The true story of a fraudulent Washington D.C.
journalist Stephen Glass who rose to incredible
meteoric heights as a young writer in his 20s,
becoming a staff writer at the prestigious 'New
Republic' magazine for three years (1995-1998).
Looking for a short cut to dam, Class concocted
sources, quotes and even entire stories (27 of his
41 published stories were either partially or
completely fictitious) but his deception did not go
unnoticed forever, and eventually, his world came
crumbling down... The film reveals the workings of
a current affairs journal, while also taking a look at
how words can be manipulated; all set against the
lies and madness of a man under pressure.
