Stalingrad
[cert U, 138 mins]
A film about ordinary men tempered by the extraordinary absurdities of war- where heroism becomes absurd and simple self-preservation rises in the void. Released in Germany in 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of German surrender at Stalingrad, the film gives an interesting perspective on one of the key events of the Second World War.
