Script Conventions

Notice the way the script is laid out – you will need to know the conventions for a later task when you attempt to turn a piece of the autobiography into a piece of script.  What are the rules for the following elements?

  1. People’s names
  2. Specific items that will have to be acquired or specific locations that may need to be found or even constructed.
  3. Descriptions of specific camera movements – e.g Pans or Tilts.
  4. Names and dialogue
  5. Directions to actors suggesting how to ‘play’ the lines – what emotions to invest them with.
